Lock the sliders with the wood bars.
(May-October) Leave upstairs windows open a crack and the downstairs window by the staircase, and the bear room window open a crack. This house needs to breathe. (November-April) Close all windows and all inside doors - ESPECIALLY the bathroom because the heat is left on to keep pipes from freezing.
If you used the washer, please please check to see that you turned the water off (control knobs are behind the dryer on the wall). The washer doesn’t shut off, and it will fill up and leak all over the downstairs if the knob is left open.
Turn on all COLD spigots and let them run while you turn off all the electricity. Once the water pump is turned off, it will take about 5 minutes to purge the water from the system, and you can just leave the spigot open. We drain the water every time we are up whether it is summer or winter.
Close down the electricity...Remove painting from wall, then:
Shut off breakers for the water heater #1-3.
Shut off #2-4 for the water pump.
Shut off range #6-8
Shut off #10-12 for the living room heat
Shut off #9-11 for the bedroom heat
Shut off #13-15 for the loft heat
In the winter months (November-April) DO NOT shut off the bathroom heat #5-7
